TLDR
This poster presents a probabilistic procedure to count the number of chromosomes in the nucleus using a simple “spatially aggregating” procedure called “spot-spot analysis”.Abstract:
Chromosome 1-22 Chromosome X Chromosome Y Homogeneously Staining Regions (HSR) Ring Chromosomes (R) Double Minute Chromosomes (DMIN).read more

An improved technique for short-term culturing of human prostatic adenocarcinoma tissue for cytogenetic analysis☆
J. Limon,Rolf Lundgren,Peter Elfving,Sverre Heim,Ulf Kristoffersson,Nils Mandahl,Felix Mitelman +6 more
TL;DR: An improved technique for cytogenetic analysis of malignant prostatic tissue is described, and more than 25 metaphases with chromosomes of high banding quality could be analyzed per case, in particular in cultures from the final pellet fraction.
Journal ArticleDOI
Preferential expression of HMGI-C isoforms lacking the acidic carboxy terminal in human leukemia.
TL;DR: The status of the HMGI-C gene in two cases of leukemia with anomalies of chromosome 12q is investigated and three novel isoforms (designated alpha, beta and gamma) derived from alternate splicing are identified and consistent with a crucial role for truncation of the acidic carboxy domain of HM GI-C in abnormal growth.
Journal ArticleDOI
Rearrangement involving chromosomes 1 and 8 in a retroperitoneal lipoma.
Cyril Foa,Claire Mainguené,Florence Dupré,Jean-Michel Coindre,Claude Huguet,Colette Kober,Florence Pedeutour +6 more
TL;DR: It is reported to be the first cytogenetic analysis of a retroperitoneal lipoma occurring in an adult, which showed a complex rearrangement interpreted as t(1;8)(q32;q22-q23) followed by a pericentric inversion of der(8).

A new case of isolated tetrasomy of chromosome 8 in a patient with therapy-related myelodysplastic syndrome: Confirmation by chromosome painting in metaphase and interphase nuclei☆

Cytogenetic studies of composite lymphomas: monocytoid B-cell lymphoma and other B-cell non-Hodgkin's lymphomas.
Marilyn L. Slovak,Marilyn L. Slovak,L M Weiss,L M Weiss,Bharat N. Nathwani,Bharat N. Nathwani,Leslie Bernstein,Leslie Bernstein,Alexandra M. Levine,Alexandra M. Levine +9 more
TL;DR: The cytogenetic and immunologic data suggest that although MBCL may exist as a pure entity, it also may commonly represent a morphologic variant or a component of other primary lymphomatous processes.
