TLDR
This poster presents a probabilistic procedure to count the number of chromosomes in the nucleus using a simple “spatially aggregating” procedure called “spot-spot analysis”.
Abstract
Chromosome 1-22 Chromosome X Chromosome Y Homogeneously Staining Regions (HSR) Ring Chromosomes (R) Double Minute Chromosomes (DMIN).

Journal ArticleDOI

The class II tumor-suppressor gene RARRES3 is expressed in B cell lymphocytic leukemias and down-regulated with disease progression.

TL;DR: A correlation between RAR RES3 down-regulation and B-CLL progression is reported and indicates that RARRES3 may play a role in B- CLL progression.
Journal ArticleDOI

Chromosome aberrations, spontaneous SCE, and growth kinetics in PHA-stimulated lymphocytes of five cases with Sézary syndrome

TL;DR: Cell cycle kinetics analysis revealed that the cell cycle time in the malignant cells was significantly longer than in lymphocytes of normal individuals, and sister chromatid exchange frequencies were significantly higher in comparison to the normal control.
Journal ArticleDOI

Genetic markers as prognostic indicators in breast cancer.

TL;DR: Currently, to the authors' knowledge, none has shown uniform changes by mutation, loss, or overexpression in all breast cancers, although a remarkable number of loci are altered to some extent.
Journal ArticleDOI

Complex variant 15;17 translocations in acute promyelocytic leukemia. A case report and review of three-way translocations.

TL;DR: A novel three-way translocation in APL involving chromosomes 15, 17, and X in the form of t(X;17;15)(q13;q12;q21) shows clinical and morphologic findings typical of APL, and a complete remission was attained with a course of conventional chemotherapy.
Journal ArticleDOI

Involvement of chromosomes 3 and 5 in renal cell carcinoma.

TL;DR: The breakpoints on chromosome 3 in seven specimens clustered in region 3p11-3p24.2 confirmed its importance in the genesis of renal cell carcinoma, and an i(5p) and involvement of band 5q21 were other frequent structural chromosome changes.
