Journal ArticleDOI
Polymorphism in spa gene of Staphylococcus aureus from bovine subclinical mastitis.
TL;DR: The virulence-associated protein-A of Staphylococcus aureus, encoded by spa gene shows a variation in length in different strains, and a greater polymorphism was observed in the S. a Aureus isolates from Rathi cattle than from H-F crossbreds with subclinical mastitis.
Journal ArticleDOI
Preparation and storage stability of retort processed Chettinad chicken
TL;DR: The retort processed Chettinad chicken prepared from spent hen and broiler breeder meat can be safely stored up to 180 days at ambient temperature and the sensory scores for texture decreased significantly however the scores were rated very acceptable even on 180th day.
Journal ArticleDOI
Measurement of C-reactive protein and prostaglandin F2α metabolite concentrations in differentiation of canine pyometra and cystic endometrial hyperplasia/mucometra.
Sinem Özlem Enginler,Atila Ateş,B Diren Sigirci,BH Sontas,Kıvılcım Sönmez,Esra Karaçam,Hayri Ekici,G Evkuran Dal,Aydın Gürel +8 more
TL;DR: It is concluded that serum CRP concentration but not PGFM might be useful as a marker to differentiate a case of CEH/mucometra from pyometra in female dogs.
Journal ArticleDOI
Bighorn sheep (ovis canadensis) sinus tumors are associated with coinfections by potentially pathogenic bacteria in the upper respiratory tract
Karen A. Fox,Karen A. Fox,Natalie M. Rouse,Natalie M. Rouse,Kathryn P. Huyvaert,Karen A. Griffin,Halcyon J. Killion,Jessica Jennings-Gaines,William H. Edwards,Sandra L. Quackenbush,Michael W. Miller +10 more
TL;DR: Logistic regression analyses found that tumor score was a good predictor of the probability of detecting potentially pathogenic bacteria in sinus lining tissues; it was found that samples with high tumor scores were more likely to detect potentially pathogens than samples with low tumor scores.
Journal ArticleDOI
Subclinical mastitis in Lacaune sheep: Causative agents, impacts on milk production, milk quality , oxidative profiles and treatment efficacy of ceftiofur.
Davi F. Alba,Gilneia da Rosa,Dalana Hanauer,Thalia Festa Saldanha,Carine F. Souza,Matheus D. Baldissera,Daiane S Dos Santos,Ana Paula Piovezan,Lilian Kolling Girardini,Aleksandro S. Da Silva +9 more
TL;DR: Ewes with mastitis have higher lipid peroxidation in serum and milk, as well as lower production, with reduction of the total dry extract in milk, and antimicrobial residues in the milk of treated animals are evaluated.
