Journal ArticleDOI

Biochemical composition and organization of higher plant photosystem II light-harvesting pigment-proteins.

TL;DR: The light-harvesting complex of barley photosystem II was fractionated by Deriphat-polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis into five different pigmented components, and the LHC IIb subunits in this complex were the most highly phosphorylated on a protein basis.
Book ChapterDOI

Phycobilisome and Phycobiliprotein Structures

TL;DR: Phycobilisomes serve as the primary light-harvesting antennae for Photosystem II in cyanobacteria and red algae and contain smaller amounts ‘linker polypeptides,’ most of which do not bear chromophores.
Journal ArticleDOI

Adaptation of cyanobacteria to environmental stimuli: new steps towards molecular mechanisms

TL;DR: This overview of the current knowledge on the molecular aspects of the biology of cyanobacteria is presented, as well as on their mechanisms of resistance to metal ions and their responses to metabolic stress.
