Dispersion Relation and Loss of Subwavelength Confined Mode of Metal-Dielectric-Gap Optical Waveguides

TL;DR: In this article, the dispersion relation of a metal-dielectric-gap optical waveguide was investigated, and it was shown that this mode of propagation has a cutoff at zero wavenumber, and that it is hollow-waveguide-like for small wavenumbers, while it approaches a surface-plasmon-like mode for large wenumbers.

A Sparsity Regularization Approach to the Electromagnetic Inverse Scattering Problem

TL;DR: It is shown that the elastic net approach can produce a more accurate estimate of the distribution of dielectric properties within an anatomically realistic 3-D numerical breast phantom than the DBIM with an l 2 penalty, which produces an estimate which suffers from multiple artifacts.
