TLDR
In this article, the authors proposed a method to predict the distribution of residence-times in large systems by using distribution-functions for residencetimes, which can be used to calculate the etficiencies of reactors and blenders.About:

Adiabatic simulated moving bed reactor : principle, nonlinear analysis and experimental demonstration
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors investigated a heat integrated reactor concept based on unsteady state operation of several adiabatic catalytic fixed-bed reactors, where exothermic reaction fronts are guided through such a cascade in the gas flow direction, while cold reactor segments are switched to the end for efficient thermal regeneration.

A quantitative analysis of swimming pool recirculation system efficiency
TL;DR: A quantitative analysis of the hydraulic efficiency of a 1:25 bench-scale swimming pool to determine whether the recirculation efficiency could be increased by modifying parameters such as turnover rate, inlet/out configuration, and extent of mixing within the pool showed that none of the investigated parameters had any significant impact on the tracer removal efficiency.

An approach to optimize costs during ultra-low hydrodesulfurization of a blend consisting of different oil streams
TL;DR: In this paper, a hydrotreatment unit fed with multiple diesel streams was optimized using a phenomenological mathematical model to minimize the operating cost, keeping the amount of sulfur in the final product below the maximum allowed value.

Axial dispersion and mixing of coolant gas within a separate-effect prismatic modular reactor
TL;DR: In this paper, a separate-effect cold-flow experimental setup for coolant flow within heated channels of the prismatic modular reactor under accident scenario using gaseous tracer technique was designed on light of local velocity measurements obtained by using hot wire anemometry.

The Definition and Measurement of Some Characteristics of Mixtures
TL;DR: In this paper, it is shown that the important features of such mixtures can be expressed by two statistically defined quantities, the scale and the intensity of segregation, and methods of measuring these are suggested.
