The use of magnetite nanoparticles for implant-assisted magnetic drug targeting in thrombolytic therapy.

TL;DR: In vitro evaluation in a flow-through model proved that the nanoparticles were captured efficiently to the surface of a ferromagnetic coiled wire at the fluid velocities typical for human arteries.

Organic/Inorganic Composite Latexes: The Marriage of Emulsion Polymerization and Inorganic Chemistry

TL;DR: A review article describes recent advances in the synthesis and properties of waterborne organic/inorganic colloids elaborated through conventional emulsion polymerization, a well-established technology as discussed by the authors, which can be defined as aqueous suspensions of composite latex particles made up of organic and inorganic domains organized into well defined core-shell, multinuclear, raspberry-like, multipod-like or armored morphologies.

Characteristics of flocculated silica dispersions

TL;DR: In this article, the effect of particle interactions in a flocculated dispersion by measuring the elasticity mechanically and determining the network dimensionality by static light scattering has been investigated, showing that the dispersion changes from fluid to solid within a narrow temperature range, defining a gel transition boundary.

Silica-Protection-Assisted Encapsulation of Cu2O Nanocubes into a Metal–Organic Framework (ZIF-8) To Provide a Composite Catalyst

TL;DR: In this article, a template protection-sacrifice (TPS) method was used to encapsulate metastable NPs such as Cu2 O into metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) to form composite materials.

Effect of interparticle interactions on size determination of zirconia and silica based systems - A comparison of SAXS, DLS, BET, XRD and TEM.

TL;DR: The size of amorphous SiO2 nanoparticles coincides for different test methods for different measurement methods, and the use of complementary methods is favourable.

Electron Microscopy of Monodisperse Latexes

TL;DR: In this article, a series of monodisperse polystyrene latexes has been prepared by carefully controlled emulsion polymerizations. The particle diameters of three of these latexes were determined by electron microscopy.
