Adaptive chromatin remodeling and transcriptional changes of the functional kinome in tumor cells in response to targeted kinase inhibition

TL;DR: In this paper , the authors focus on the dynamic plasticity of protein kinase expression of the tumor cell kinome and the resulting adaptive resistance to targeted kinase inhibition, and conclude that understanding the heterogeneity of kinase expressions at baseline and in response to therapy is imperative for development of combinations and timing intervals of therapies making interventions durable.

The Role of the Meiotic Component in Reproduction of B-RAF-Mutated Melanoma: A Review and “Brainstorming” Session

TL;DR: The ectopic expression of cancer testis (CT) antigens and classic meiotic genes is characteristic and a hallmark of poor prognosis of melanoma disease, and the aberrant meiotic pathway in cancer is reviewed in the ancestral asexual variants.

FGFR3-TACC3 : A novel gene fusion in malignant melanoma

TL;DR: The first case of malignant melanoma harboring a FGFR3-TACC3 (transforming acidic coiled-coil containing protein 3) fusion is reported, which appears to be a promising potential therapeutic target.

A multiple testing procedure for clinical trials.

TL;DR: The overall size of the procedure is shown to be controlled with virtually the same accuracy as the single sample chi-square test based on N(m1 + m2) observations and the power is found to bevirtually the same.
