TLDR
The thermal conductivity and bulk density rose greatly and the carbon within the silica aerogels was released after heat treatment, and the heat released in the thermal gravimetry and oxygen bomb analyses dropped remarkably with the increase in the heat treatment temperature.

Facile preparation of N-doped activated carbon produced from rice husk for CO2 capture.

TL;DR: CAC-5 (modified AC) exhibits better CO2 adsorption performance, which can be attributed to the formation of the CO2-philic active sites on AC surface by N-species, and the high IAST selectivity factor for N-doped ACs indicates their excellent Adsorption selectivity for CO2 over N2.

In-situ immobilization of ZIF-67 on wood aerogel for effective removal of tetracycline from water

TL;DR: ZIF-67@WA (wood aerogel) has been successfully fabricated through in-situ anchoring of ZIF -67 rhombic dodecahedron on the wood aerogels obtained by selectively removing lignin and hemicellulose from natural wood as mentioned in this paper.
Journal ArticleDOI

Hierarchically porous SiO2/polyurethane foam composites towards excellent thermal insulating, flame-retardant and smoke-suppressant performances

TL;DR: The mechanism analysis suggested that a compact silica-rich hybrid barrier formed, preventing thermal degradation products and energy transfer during combustion, indicating SiO2/PUF composites have enormous potential as building insulation materials.
Journal ArticleDOI

Facile preparation of layered melamine-phytate flame retardant via supramolecular self-assembly technology

TL;DR: Char yield of PP is improved by MEL-PA, and the chemical structure and graphitization degree of residual char are studied to reveal flame retardant mechanism.

Constructing hierarchical structure based on LDH anchored boron-doped g-C3N4 assembled with MnO2 nanosheets towards reducing toxicants generation and fire hazard of epoxy resin

TL;DR: In this article, a hierarchical structure (MLBCN) based on LDH anchored boron-doped g-C3N4 assembled with MnO2 nanosheets is rationally constructed as flame retardant additive for epoxy resin.
