Photoelectrochemical water splitting employing a tapered silicon nanohole array

TL;DR: An effective photocathode adopting a tapered Si nanohole (SiNH) array has been developed for photoelectrochemical water splitting in this paper, where the tapered feature of SiNH photocathodes resulted in a gradation of the refractive indices between Si and air, such that mismatching of optical impedance was alleviated and light absorption was enhanced.
Journal ArticleDOI

Optical analysis of the light emission from porous silicon: a hybrid polyatom surface-coupled fluorophor.

TL;DR: This study suggests the important role that the overtone structure of a molecule bound to a surface can play as one forms a hybrid system.
Journal ArticleDOI

Method of controlling spontaneous emission from porous silicon fabricated using pulsed current etching

TL;DR: In this article, a new technique for porous silicon formation based on pulsed current anodic etching is presented, which offers the possibility of fabricating luminescent material with selective wavelength emission depending on cycle time and pause time (T off ) of pulsed currents during the etching process.
