Folding Under Pressure or Rising to the Occasion? Perceived Time Pressure and the Moderating Role of Team Temporal Leadership

TLDR
In this paper, the authors examined how perceived time pressure affects team processes and subsequent performance under weak versus strong team temporal leadership, and they found that the mediated relationship between time pressure and team performance is non-linear.
Abstract
"Team temporal leadership" orients teams toward managing the time-related aspects of their work. We examine how perceived time pressure affects team processes and subsequent performance under weak versus strong team temporal leadership. The results of our field study of 111 project teams show that the mediated relationship between perceived time pressure and team performance is non-linear. Moreover, this non-linear mediated relationship is moderated by team temporal leadership such that, under strong team temporal leadership, the indirect effect of perceived time pressure on team performance is mostly positive, while, under conditions of weak team temporal leadership, the indirect effect is positive at low levels of perceived time pressure and negative at intermediate to high levels. Implications for current and future time pressure research are also discussed

The Relative Importance of Temporal Leadership and Initiating Structure for Timely Project Completion

TL;DR: In this paper , the authors assess the relative usefulness of temporal leadership and initiating structure in predicting timely team project completion and conclude that temporal leadership is a new construct that is a highly useful approach to leader behavior in the context of teams working on time-limited projects.

The dark side of leadership: A systematic review of creativity and innovation

TL;DR: In this paper , a comprehensive systematic review of 106 empirical studies on the dark side of leadership is provided, including abusive supervision, authoritarian leadership, narcissistic leadership, and close monitoring, and the main effects, summarizes the results of the mediating and moderating variables, and highlights methodological shortcomings of the previous literature.

Investigating the Curvilinear Relationship Between Temporal Leadership and Team Creativity: The Moderation of Knowledge Complexity and the Mediation of Team Creative Process Engagement

TL;DR: Wang et al. as discussed by the authors proposed that temporal leadership has a curvilinear (i.e., inverted U-shaped) relationship with team creativity and that team knowledge complexity moderate this relationship, while team creative process engagement conditionally mediates it.

How Does Feedback Valence Improve Team Creativity by Influencing Team Relationship Conflict?

TL;DR: In this paper , the authors explored the influence of feedback valence on team creativity and found that positive feedback is more conducive to team creativity than negative feedback, while negative feedback increases team relationship conflict, which negatively affects team creativity.

Complementary effects of high‐performance work systems and temporal leadership on employee creativity: a social embeddedness perspective of thriving

TL;DR: In this article , a human dimension of the sustainability perspective and the effect of high-performance work systems on creativity through evidence of employees' thriving at work is investigated. And the moderating role of temporal leadership in the relationship between HPWS and thriving is explored.

Cutoff criteria for fit indexes in covariance structure analysis : Conventional criteria versus new alternatives

TL;DR: In this article, the adequacy of the conventional cutoff criteria and several new alternatives for various fit indexes used to evaluate model fit in practice were examined, and the results suggest that, for the ML method, a cutoff value close to.95 for TLI, BL89, CFI, RNI, and G...

A Temporally Based Framework and Taxonomy of Team Processes

TL;DR: This article defines team process in the context of a multiphase episodic framework related to goal accomplishment, arguing that teams are multitasking units that perform multiple processes simultaneously and sequentially to orchestrate goal-directed taskwork.
