TLDR
In this article, the grain boundary diffusion process using an Nd70Cu30 eutectic alloy has been applied to hot-deformed anisotropic Nd-Fe-B magnets, resulting in a substantial enhancement of coercivity, at the expense of remanence.

Coercivity Enhancement of Hot-deformed Nd-Fe-B Magnets by the Eutectic Grain Boundary Diffusion Process

TL;DR: In this paper, Nd-M alloys with compositions close to eutectic points were investigated as diffusion sources for the grain boundary diffusion process to hot-deformed nd-Fe-B magnets.

LaBonte's method revisited: An effective steepest descent method for micromagnetic energy minimization

TL;DR: In this article, a steepest descent energy minimization scheme for micromagnetic magnetics is presented, which searches on a curve that lies on the sphere which keeps the magnitude of the magnetization vector constant.

Coercivity and its thermal stability of Nd–Fe–B hot-deformed magnets enhanced by the eutectic grain boundary diffusion process

TL;DR: In this article, the authors applied the eutectic grain boundary diffusion process to Nd Fe B hot-deformed magnet using Nd60Tb20Cu20 alloy, which resulted in a large coercivity enhancement from 0.87

Strategy for high-coercivity Nd-Fe-B magnets

TL;DR: The formation of continuous thin layers of a Ndrich amorphous phase surrounding Nd 2 Fe 14 B grains is the key microstructural feature of high-coercivity Nd-Fe 14 B magnets.

Analysis of the magnetic hardening mechanism in RE-FeB permanent magnets

TL;DR: In this article, a detailed analysis of the temperature dependence of H c is given on the basis of the predictions of micromagnetic theories for pinning and nucleation mechanisms, and it is shown that the nucleation theory leads to a coherent interpretation of all relevant properties of Hc than the pinning theory if the effects of misaligned grains, local stray fields and reduced anisotropies in grain boundaries are taken into account.

Hot‐pressed neodymium‐iron‐boron magnets

R. W. Lee
TL;DR: In this paper, a new method is described which produces fully dense, well aligned Nd•Fe•B magnets from rapidly quenched ribbons, achieved by hot pressing at ∼15 kpsi in argon at 700 °C, and a second hot press in a larger die cavity to allow deformation transverse to the press direction (die upsetting).
