Effect of 1,3-butanediol on hepatic fatty acid synthesis and metabolite levels in the rat.

TL;DR: It is suggested that the shift in the cyto- plasmic redox state and the increase in hepatic long-chain acyl CoA levels are involved in the decrease in hepatics fatty acid synthesis observed when rats are fed 1,3-butanediol.
Journal ArticleDOI

Effect of Protein and Amino Acid Status on Lipogenesis by Turkey Poults

TL;DR: It is suggested from the study that both GAT and ICD reflect the protein nutritional status of the poult and ME its lipogenic capacity.
Journal ArticleDOI

Journal ArticleDOI

Changes in the activities of the lipogenic enzymes ATP-citrate lyase and the "malic" enzyme, in the liver of the female domestic fowl (Gallus domesticus) from four weeks of age to adulthood.

TL;DR: The activities of the lipogenic enzymes ATP-citrate lyase and the “malic” enzyme were determined in the livers of pullets from 4 weeks of age to adulthood and in the laying hen the enzyme specific activities were similar to those in 4- and 7-week-old pullets.

Protein Measurement with the Folin Phenol Reagent

TL;DR: Procedures are described for measuring protein in solution or after precipitation with acids or other agents, and for the determination of as little as 0.2 gamma of protein.
Journal ArticleDOI

A simple method for the isolation and purification of total lipides from animal tissues.

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors described a simplified version of the method and reported the results of a study of its application to different tissues, including the efficiency of the washing procedure in terms of the removal from tissue lipides of some non-lipide substances of special biochemical interest.
