Effects of contact pressure, interface temperature, and surface roughness on thermal contact conductance between stainless steel surfaces under atmosphere condition

TL;DR: In this paper, the effects of interface temperature, specimen surface roughness, and contact pressure on thermal contact conductance (TCC) have been investigated using SUS 304 stainless steel, and the interface temperature was in the region of 360-640 ˚C, the contact pressure was between 2.39 and 15.17 ǫMPa.

Experimental study of the effects of the thermal contact resistance on the performance of thermoelectric generator

TL;DR: In this paper, the effects of the interface material and loading pressure on the thermal contact resistance of a TEG were investigated and analyzed, and it was found that an increase in the thermal resistance of the thermoelectric module was accompanied by an increased average temperature of the module, a decrease in the ratio of the thermal contacts resistance to the total thermal resistance, and an increase of the output power.

Thermal boundary resistance

TL;DR: In this article, the thermal boundary resistance at interfaces between helium and solids (Kapitza resistance) and thermal boundary resistances at interfaces interfaces between two solids are discussed for temperatures above 0.1 K. The apparent qualitative differences in the behavior of the boundary resistance in these two types of interfaces can be understood within the context of two limiting models of boundary resistance, the acoustic mismatch model, which assumes no scattering, and the diffuse mismatch model that all phonons incident on the interface will scatter.

The intrinsic thermal conductivity of AIN

TL;DR: The thermal conductivity of AIN has been measured from 0.4 to 1800 K as discussed by the authors, and it has been shown that the heat conduction is by phonons and that at the lowest temperatures the phonon mean-free-path, l, is limited by boundary scattering.

Acoustic mismatch model for thermal contact resistance of van der Waals contacts

TL;DR: In this article, an analytical model of contact resistance (Rc) that accounts for the strength of the interfacial bonding is presented, where conductance/area is proportional to the square of the adhesion energy of the interface for weak bonding.

Role of critical current on the point-contact Andreev reflection spectra between a normal metal and a superconductor

TL;DR: In this article, the point-contact spectrum between a normal metal and a superconductor was analyzed and it was shown that the dip in the conductance at voltage values larger than the superconducting energy gap is caused by the contact not being in the ballistic limit.
