Telocytes Enhances M1 Differentiation and Phagocytosis While Inhibits Mitochondria-Mediated Apoptosis Via Activation of NF-κB in Macrophages.

TL;DR: In this paper, CD34/vimentin-positive Telocytes (TCs) were co-cultured with RAW264.7 cells in vitro, and the results showed that upon in vitro co-culture with TCM, RAW264.,7 cells differentiated more toward the M1 phenotype with enhancement of phagocytosis, increase in energy metabolism and proliferation owing to reduced the loss of ΔΨm, and suppression of dexamethasone induced apoptosis.
Journal ArticleDOI

Perioperative Intervention by β-Blockade and NF-κB Suppression Reduces the Recurrence Risk of Endometriosis in Mice Due to Incomplete Excision.

TL;DR: Perioperative use of β-blockers and/or NF-κB inhibitors may reduce the risk of recurrence in endometriosis and significantly attenuated the generalized hyperalgesia resulting from the presence of residual lesions.
Journal ArticleDOI

A pilot study on the use of andrographolide to treat symptomatic adenomyosis

TL;DR: Andrographolide is effective in some patients with symptomatic adenomyosis, who have a higher endometrial expression of the activated form of the NF-κB p65 subunit, and the eutopic endometrium p-p65 staining levels were closely correlated with the satisfaction rating.
Journal ArticleDOI

Eutopic endometrium from patients with endometriosis modulates the expression of CD36 and SIRP-α in peritoneal macrophages.

TL;DR: This study aimed to investigate the in vitro alterations of the expression of signal regulatory protein‐α (SIRP‐α) and CD36 in macrophages in the endometriosis condition.

THE NF-κB AND IκB PROTEINS: New Discoveries and Insights

TL;DR: The transcription factor NF-κB has attracted widespread attention among researchers in many fields based on its unusual and rapid regulation, the wide range of genes that it controls, its central role in immunological processes, the complexity of its subunits, and its apparent involvement in several diseases.
Journal ArticleDOI

Nuclear factor-kappaB in cancer development and progression.

TL;DR: This article showed that NF-kappaB provides a mechanistic link between inflammation and cancer, and is a major factor controlling the ability of both pre-neoplastic and malignant cells to resist apoptosis-based tumour-surveillance mechanisms.
Journal ArticleDOI

NF-κB at the crossroads of life and death

TL;DR: The choice between life and death is one of the major events in regulation of the immune system and a major regulator of such life or death decisions is the transcription factor NF-κB as mentioned in this paper.
Journal ArticleDOI

The two NF-κB activation pathways and their role in innate and adaptive immunity

TL;DR: Results strongly suggest that the classical and alternative pathways to NF-κB activation have distinct regulatory functions, one that is mostly involved in innate immunity and the other in adaptive immunity.
Journal ArticleDOI

Integrating cell-signalling pathways with NF-kappaB and IKK function.

TL;DR: This work has shown that crosstalk constitutes a decision-making process that determines the consequences of NF-κB and IKK activation and, ultimately, cell fate.
