Isothiocyanates and cyclic thiocarbamates of alpha,alpha'-trehalose, sucrose, and cyclomaltooligosaccharides.

TLDR
In the presence of triethylamine, 6,6'-dideoxy-6,6'diisothiocyanato-alpha,alpha'-trehalose underwent intramolecular cyclisation involving HO-4 to give the corresponding bis(cyclic thiocarbamate).

Cyclodextrin-based multivalent glycodisplays: covalent and supramolecular conjugates to assess carbohydrate–protein interactions

TL;DR: Multivalent CD conjugates have been, and continue to be, major actors in studies directed at deciphering the structural features ruling carbohydrate recognition events, and applications in the fields of sensors, site-specific drug and gene delivery or protein stabilization attest for the maturity of the field.

One-pot synthesis of dithiocarbamates accelerated in water.

TL;DR: Highly efficient one-pot reactions of amines and carbon disulfide with alpha,beta-unsaturated compounds were carried out in water under a mild and green procedure with high yields.
Journal ArticleDOI

Trehalose click polymers inhibit nanoparticle aggregation and promote pDNA delivery in serum.

TL;DR: Three new glycopolymers synthesized via "click polymerization" were designed to contain a trehalose moiety to promote biocompatibility, water solubility, and stability against aggregation, amide-triazole groups to enhance DNA binding affinity, and an oligoamine unit to facilitate DNA encapsulation, phosphate neutralization, and interactions with cell surfaces.

A new efficient synthesis of isothiocyanates from amines using di-tert-butyl dicarbonate

TL;DR: Alkyl and aryl amines are converted smoothly to the corresponding isothiocyanates via the dithiocarbamates in good to excellent yields using di- tert -butyl dicarbonate (Boc 2 O) and 1−3 ǫ% of DMAP or DABCO as catalyst as mentioned in this paper.

Structural Effects of Carbohydrate-Containing Polycations on Gene Delivery. 1. Carbohydrate Size and Its Distance from Charge Centers

TL;DR: It is found that as the charge center is further removed from the carbohydrate unit, the toxicity is increased and as the size of the carbohydrate moiety is enlarged from trehalose to beta-cyclodextrin, theoxicity is reduced.

Carbon-13 nuclear magnetic resonance data for oligosaccharides

TL;DR: A compilation of 13 C-nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) data for oligosaccharides in the form of tables is presented, covering most of the data of 1982, and all of the information given had been measured for solutions in D 2 O unless stated otherwise.

The Chemistry of cyanates and their thio derivatives

Saul Patai
TL;DR: Patai's Chemistry of Functional Groups as discussed by the authors is one of chemistry's landmark book series in organic chemistry and is the most complete reference available in functional group chemistry, covering all aspects of the chemistry of an important functional group in each volume, with the emphasis not only on the functional group but on the whole molecule.

Cyclodextrin chemistry. Selective modification of all primary hydroxyl groups of α- and β-cyclodextrins

TL;DR: In this article, two efficient methods for the selective modification of all six primary hydroxyl groups of α-cyclodextrin (α-CD, 11) were described, one using an indirect strategy, which involves protection of all 18 hydrastic functions as benzoate esters, followed by selective deprotection of the six primary alcohol groups.
