Landscape response functions for biodiversity—assessing the impact of land-use changes at the county level
TLDR
In this paper, the impact of land-use change on biodiversity is assessed by means of six indicators for three aspects of biodiversity: composition, structure, and function, and the results of the evaluation of the single sub-scenarios were summarized to response functions, which describe the sensitivity of landscape attributes toward landuse changes.About:

TL;DR: In this article, three land-cover maps were derived from satellite imagery acquired over 25 years (1975, 1990 and 2000), and were used to assess the patterns of deforestation and forest fragmentation in the coastal range of south-central Chile.

Review of ecological effects of roads on terrestrial and aquatic communities.
TL;DR: Roads are a widespread and increasing feature of most landscapes. as mentioned in this paper reviewed the scientific liter- ature on the ecological effects of roads and found support for the general conclusion that they are associated with negative effects on biotic integrity in both terrestrial and aquatic ecosystems.
