TLDR
MAP-MRI represents a new comprehensive framework to model the three-dimensional q-space MR signal and transform it into diffusion propagators, and provides several novel, quantifiable parameters that capture previously obscured intrinsic features of nervous tissue microstructure.

Premature white matter aging in patients with right mesial temporal lobe epilepsy: A machine learning approach based on diffusion MRI data.

TL;DR: A brain age prediction model was developed based on diffusion MRI data that showed patients with right MTLE exhibited older brain age than those with left MTLE and predicted age difference (PAD) was correlated with seizure frequency in rightMTLE.
Journal ArticleDOI

Age and sex effects on advanced white matter microstructure measures in 15,628 older adults: A UK biobank study

TL;DR: In this paper, diffusion-weighted magnetic resonance imaging (dMRI) was used to estimate age and sex effects on white matter microstructure in a cross-sectional sample of 15,628 adults aged 45-80 years old (47.6% male, 52.4% female).
Journal ArticleDOI

Mean apparent propagator-MRI: A new diffusion model which improves temporal lobe epilepsy lateralization.

TL;DR: MAP- MRI measurements are promising radiologic biomarkers for the non-invasive lateralization of epileptogenic foci in TLE and also compare these DTI and MAP-MRI measurements to cognitive function.

Generating Diffusion MRI Scalar Maps from T1 Weighted Images Using Generative Adversarial Networks

TL;DR: In this paper, CycleGAN is used to generate synthetic diffusion scalar measures from structural T1-weighted images in a single optimized step, which can be used as a target for nonlinear registration, to correct for geometric distortions common in diffusion MRI.
Journal ArticleDOI

Development of white matter microstructure and executive functions during childhood and adolescence: a review of diffusion MRI studies

TL;DR: In this article, the authors provide a brief overview of diffusion magnetic resonance imaging (dMRI) methods and how they can be used to study white matter and connectivity and review the extant literature examining the links between dMRI indices and executive functions during development.

Compressed sensing

TL;DR: It is possible to design n=O(Nlog(m)) nonadaptive measurements allowing reconstruction with accuracy comparable to that attainable with direct knowledge of the N most important coefficients, and a good approximation to those N important coefficients is extracted from the n measurements by solving a linear program-Basis Pursuit in signal processing.

Spin diffusion measurements : spin echoes in the presence of a time-dependent field gradient

TL;DR: In this article, a derivation of the effect of a time-dependent magnetic field gradient on the spin-echo experiment, particularly in the presence of spin diffusion, is given.

Solving least squares problems

TL;DR: Since the lm function provides a lot of features it is rather complicated so it is going to instead use the function lsfit as a model, which computes only the coefficient estimates and the residuals.
