Surface modification of W–V alloy exposed to high heat flux helium neutral beams
TL;DR: In this paper, surface modification of tungsten vanadium (W-V) alloy under high heat flux helium particle bombardment has been studied, and the effect of helium fluence on the surface morphology changes was investigated by increasing the surface fluence from 1 × 1022 m−2 −2 × 10 22 m− 2 −2.

Crystallographic orientation dependent of blisters formation on tungsten surface exposed to helium ions
TL;DR: The mechanism of crystallographic orientation dependent on helium-induced blister formation in plasma-facing tungsten was studied by helium implantation, scanning electron microscopy (SEM) observat....

Microstructure of electrodeposited tungsten coatings after 30 keV helium ion implantation
TL;DR: The microstructure evolution of the electrodeposited tungsten coatings was investigated in this paper, showing that all samples suffered surface blistering after ion implantation, and the surface suffered more morphology changes with the increase of ion fluences.

Helium induced nanoscopic morphology on tungsten under fusion relevant plasma conditions
M.J. Baldwin,R.P. Doerner +1 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the growth of the thickness of the nanorods was explored for exposure times spanning 300-2.2 × 104 s in He plasmas of density ne ~ 4 × 1018 m−3 and temperature Te ~ 6-8 eV where the average He ion surface-impact energy is ~ 60 eV, below the threshold for physical sputtering.

Migration energy of He in W revisited by ab initio calculations.
TL;DR: The calculated migration energy of He is very low, around 0.06 eV, which indicates that He atoms can be trapped by other He atoms and can explain the formation of He blisters close to the surface of He implanted tungsten.
