Mimics of Inflammatory Bowel Disease.
TLDR
This paper divides the diseases that can imitate IBD into noninfectious and infectious causes, and discusses how to distinguish these distinct disorders from IBD.Abstract:
Inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) may present with nonspecific symptoms and diagnostic findings. Therefore, many diseases may mimic the clinical symptoms, endoscopic findings, and histologic features of IBD. In this paper, we will review mimics of IBD, dividing the diseases that can imitate IBD into noninfectious and infectious causes. For each disease state, we will discuss the clinical symptoms and endoscopic and histologic features. Finally, we will discuss how to distinguish these distinct disorders from IBD.read more

Mesenchymal stem cells and acellular products attenuate murine induced colitis.
TL;DR: Both MSCs and EVs are effective therapeutic candidates for a DSS-induced mouse colitis model and have similar immunosuppressive and anti-inflammatory functions, and EVs may present a novel future therapeutic for the treatment of IBD.

Redox-active nanoparticles for inflammatory bowel disease
TL;DR: In this paper, Redox-active nanoparticles (NPs) with catalytic properties or enzyme-like activities can effectively scavenge reactive oxygen species (ROS) and reactive nitrogen species(RNS) produced by inflammatory cells and selectively target inflamed sites via ultrasmall size-mediated enhanced permeation and retention (EPR) effect, showing great potential to regulate IBD and maintain the homeostasis of gut microbiota.

Reporting Colonic Biopsies in Patients With Inflammatory Bowel Disease; a Practical Approach
TL;DR: The histological criteria of UC and CD is detailed and a lifelong approach of reporting colonic biopsies from patients with IBD is informed and the term "nonspecific colitis" is discouraged as it has no clinical value or agreed-upon and recognized histopathological features.
