Electrostatic turbulence in electron temperature jumps of the solar atmosphere
P. A. Bespalov,O. N. Savina +1 more
TL;DR: In this article, a simple dependence of the noise electric field in the transition region on the effective collision frequency has been derived, based on known experimental models of the solar atmosphere, for a tube with a relatively weak magnetic field passing from the chromosphere into the corona.
Journal ArticleDOI
Nonlinear electromagnetic waves in an inhomogeneous plasma
TL;DR: In this article, a stationary theoretical model giving an asymptotic description of the propagation of nonlinear electromagnetic waves in an inhomogeneous plasma is presented, and the critical conditions for resonant electrostatic absorption and mode conversion are derived and discussed within these approximations, and some reference numerical calculations are performed.
Dissertation
Evolução não linear de ondas eletrostáticas e eletromagnéticas no contexto da teoria de turbulência fraca em plasmas
TL;DR: In this paper, a review of weak turbulence in plasmas is presented, starting from fundamental aspects of Vlasov-Maxwell equations in quasilinear approach, with emphasis on the main features of theory.
Journal ArticleDOI
Initial noise and quiet start (Q.S.) in electromagnetic particle simulation codes
TL;DR: In this paper, the results of applying first and second moment quiet start, as suggested by Gitomer (Phys. Fluids 14 (1971), 1591), to simulation of electromagnetic ion-cyclotron instability are presented.
Journal ArticleDOI
Electron Landau damping and electron collisions
TL;DR: In this article, the effect of electron-electron collisions on the Landau damping of a single wave in a magnetized or unmagnetized plasma is calculated using a model Fokker-Planck operator.
