Plasma maser theory due to nonlinear forces

TL;DR: The physical mechanism responsible for the plasma maser effect is clarified in this paper, where high-frequency nonlinear forces which come from the resonant interaction between electrons and a modulated electric field drive the instability.
Journal ArticleDOI

Electron diffusion in the fast-axial-flow CO2 laser

TL;DR: In this paper, a simplified model of the turbulent electron diffusion is developed based on the approximations of the k- epsilon turbulence model, and the predicted radial profiles of electron concentration in the laser cavity and experimentally observed profiles are shown to be in reasonable agreement if the electron density at the boundary is equal to about 0.6 of the maximum electron density.
Proceedings ArticleDOI

Nonlinear Plasma Effects in Natural and Artificial Aurora

Evgeny Mishin
TL;DR: In this article, the authors describe common features of natural (Enhanced) aurora and artificial aurora (AA) created by electron beams injected from sounding rockets, which cannot be explained solely by col−lisional degradation of energetic electrons.
Proceedings ArticleDOI

Parametric decay of Alfvén waves at parallel and oblique propagation: Kinetic effects and transverse couplings

L. Matteini
TL;DR: In this paper, the properties of the parametric decay of Alfven waves in a kinetic regime are studied by means of 1-D and 2-D hybrid numerical simulations; propagation parallel and oblique with respect to the ambient magnetic field is considered.
Journal ArticleDOI

Phase-invariant solutions of nonlinear wave-wave interacting systems

TL;DR: In this article, the existence of phase-invariant solutions for a class of nonlinear wave-wave interacting systems is studied and the application of these results to the non-inear interaction between two transverse waves and a longitudinal wave in a magnetized collisionless plasma is discussed.
