TLDR
An ideal text for an upper-level undergraduate or first-year graduate course, Nonparametric Statistical Methods, Second Edition is also an invaluable source for professionals who want to keep abreast of the latest developments within this dynamic branch of modern statistics.
Abstract
This Second Edition of Myles Hollander and Douglas A. Wolfe's successful Nonparametric Statistical Methods meets the needs of a new generation of users, with completely up-to-date coverage of this important statistical area. Like its predecessor, the revised edition, along with its companion ftp site, aims to equip readers with the conceptual and technical skills necessary to select and apply the appropriate procedures for a given situation. An extensive array of examples drawn from actual experiments illustrates clearly how to use nonparametric approaches to handle one- or two-sample location and dispersion problems, dichotomous data, and one-way and two-way layout problems. An ideal text for an upper-level undergraduate or first-year graduate course, Nonparametric Statistical Methods, Second Edition is also an invaluable source for professionals who want to keep abreast of the latest developments within this dynamic branch of modern statistics.

More than 500,000 years of right-handedness in Europe

TL;DR: Research on human fossils from Sima de los Huesos and their likely descendants, the European Neandertals is reviewed, and scratch patterns that occur on the labial (lip) face of incisors and canines are documented, suggesting hand preference in fossils extends deep into the European past.
Journal ArticleDOI

Effects of flow velocity, food concentration and particle flux on growth rates of juvenile bay scallops Argopecten irradians

TL;DR: Flux of food particles is not a predictor of growth, rather it is the combination of the effects due to food concentration and flow velocity which determine the response of the individual juvenile bay scallop.

Influence of lifetime food restriction on causes, time, and predictors of death in dogs.

TL;DR: Results were similar to results of diet restriction studies in rodents and primates, reflecting delayed death from species- and strain-specific intrinsic causes and unplanned body mass changes during mid- and later life of dogs may indicate the need for thorough clinical evaluation.

Bivariate Survival Models for Coupled Lives

TL;DR: In this paper, alternative models for modeling the dependence of the time of deaths of coupled lives were presented and applied to a data set from a life annuity portfolio, and the analysis concludes that a mixed frailty copula model with Gompertz marginals fits the data very well.
