An ideal text for an upper-level undergraduate or first-year graduate course, Nonparametric Statistical Methods, Second Edition is also an invaluable source for professionals who want to keep abreast of the latest developments within this dynamic branch of modern statistics.Abstract:
This Second Edition of Myles Hollander and Douglas A. Wolfe's successful Nonparametric Statistical Methods meets the needs of a new generation of users, with completely up-to-date coverage of this important statistical area. Like its predecessor, the revised edition, along with its companion ftp site, aims to equip readers with the conceptual and technical skills necessary to select and apply the appropriate procedures for a given situation. An extensive array of examples drawn from actual experiments illustrates clearly how to use nonparametric approaches to handle one- or two-sample location and dispersion problems, dichotomous data, and one-way and two-way layout problems. An ideal text for an upper-level undergraduate or first-year graduate course, Nonparametric Statistical Methods, Second Edition is also an invaluable source for professionals who want to keep abreast of the latest developments within this dynamic branch of modern statistics.read more

TL;DR: It is shown that all node-statistic distributions and their correlation structure have remained surprisingly stable in the last 20 years -and are likely to do so in the future -and the distribution of (positive) link weights is slowly moving from a log-normal density towards a power law.

Disease severity and the effect of fluticasone propionate on chronic obstructive pulmonary disease exacerbations
TL;DR: Recommendations in the Global Initiative for Chronic Obstructive Disease treatment guidelines that inhaled corticosteroids should be considered in patients with moderate‐to‐severe chronic obstructive pulmonary disease who experience recurrent exacerbations are supported.

Effect of intensive diabetes treatment on nerve conduction in the diabetes control and complications trial
TL;DR: The Diabetes Control and Complications Trial demonstrated that intensive diabetes therapy effectively delays the onset of clinically apparent neuropathy in patients with insulin‐dependent diabetes mellitus and confirmed that the electrophysiological abnormalities associated with diabetic neuropathy are delayed or prevented by intensive diabetes treatment.

TL;DR: A reverse relationship between tHcy and events in ESRD patients is found and administration of high-dose folic acid did not affect event rates.

Factors affecting schedule delay, cost overrun, and quality level in public construction projects
TL;DR: In this article, the authors analyzed the factors that project managers experience as having the greatest effect on time, cost, and quality, and to discover whether the effects of these factors are significantly different from each other.
