TLDR
An ideal text for an upper-level undergraduate or first-year graduate course, Nonparametric Statistical Methods, Second Edition is also an invaluable source for professionals who want to keep abreast of the latest developments within this dynamic branch of modern statistics.Abstract:
This Second Edition of Myles Hollander and Douglas A. Wolfe's successful Nonparametric Statistical Methods meets the needs of a new generation of users, with completely up-to-date coverage of this important statistical area. Like its predecessor, the revised edition, along with its companion ftp site, aims to equip readers with the conceptual and technical skills necessary to select and apply the appropriate procedures for a given situation. An extensive array of examples drawn from actual experiments illustrates clearly how to use nonparametric approaches to handle one- or two-sample location and dispersion problems, dichotomous data, and one-way and two-way layout problems. An ideal text for an upper-level undergraduate or first-year graduate course, Nonparametric Statistical Methods, Second Edition is also an invaluable source for professionals who want to keep abreast of the latest developments within this dynamic branch of modern statistics.read more

TL;DR: Combination therapy with either ZDv/3TC or ZDV/ddI was superior, as determined by clinical and laboratory measures, to monotherapy with ddI.

Group selection: migration and the differentiation of small populations.
TL;DR: It is shown that population subdivision in the absence of migration can result in the rapid phenotypic and genotypic differentiation of local demes for traits affecting the rate of population increase, and the opportunity for interdemic selection, which depends upon the amount ofphenotypic variation among demes, decreases as effective deme size increases.

Female choice and selection on male calling behaviour in the grey treefrog Hyla versicolor
TL;DR: Variation in male calling behaviour and female choice was investigated in a population of the grey treefrog with a lek mating system in east-central Maine over 3 years, and selection differentials and standardized selection gradients did not reveal any consistent relationships between maleCalling behaviour and mating success.

Twenty-Four-Hour Secretory Pattern of Cortisol in the Bull: Evidence of Episodic Secretion and Circadian Rhythm
TL;DR: Results from this study indicate that there is a temporal correlation between the rhythm of cortisol secretion and the light-dark cycle in the bovine species.

TL;DR: Comparison of the air quality trends and major inflection points with those from NEIs, the National Energy Consumption and the calendar of the implementation of major policy actions allowed us to clearly identify major benefits of European directives on power generation and industrial sources.
