TLDR
An ideal text for an upper-level undergraduate or first-year graduate course, Nonparametric Statistical Methods, Second Edition is also an invaluable source for professionals who want to keep abreast of the latest developments within this dynamic branch of modern statistics.
Abstract
This Second Edition of Myles Hollander and Douglas A. Wolfe's successful Nonparametric Statistical Methods meets the needs of a new generation of users, with completely up-to-date coverage of this important statistical area. Like its predecessor, the revised edition, along with its companion ftp site, aims to equip readers with the conceptual and technical skills necessary to select and apply the appropriate procedures for a given situation. An extensive array of examples drawn from actual experiments illustrates clearly how to use nonparametric approaches to handle one- or two-sample location and dispersion problems, dichotomous data, and one-way and two-way layout problems. An ideal text for an upper-level undergraduate or first-year graduate course, Nonparametric Statistical Methods, Second Edition is also an invaluable source for professionals who want to keep abreast of the latest developments within this dynamic branch of modern statistics.

A Nonparametric Multivariate Test for Monotone Trend with Pharmaceutical Applications

TL;DR: In this paper, a multivariate test for monotone trend based on Kendall's τ statistic was proposed as a way to test for change in blood constituents over the course of a drug experiment.
Journal ArticleDOI

Bias in detrital zircon geochronology and thermochronometry

TL;DR: In this article, the authors quantify the impact of intrinsic bias on detrital studies thanks to the analysis of modern detritus shed from the European Alps, and illustrate the general implications on geological interpretations.
Journal ArticleDOI

Learning to Listen: Teaching an Active Listening Strategy to Preservice Education Professionals

TL;DR: In this article, a pretest-post-test control group design was used to examine the effect of instruction on active listening skills of preservice education professionals in role-play conversations with preschool and school-age children.
Journal ArticleDOI

Suppression of conditioned avoidance behavior by the local application of (-)sulpiride into the ventral, but not the dorsal, striatum of the rat.

TL;DR: It is concluded that the performance of conditioned avoidance behavior in the rat is critically dependent on an intact dopaminergic neurotransmission in the nucleus accumbens or adjacent areas of the ventral striatum.

Response to Insulin Treatment and Survival in 104 Cats with Diabetes Mellitus (1985–1995)

TL;DR: Diabetic cats evaluated in this study showed a variable response to exogenously administered insulin, ranging from excellent to poor, by maintaining mean blood glucose concentrations under 300 mg/dL, clinical signs were improved, and owners were satisfied with insulin treatment.
