TLDR
An ideal text for an upper-level undergraduate or first-year graduate course, Nonparametric Statistical Methods, Second Edition is also an invaluable source for professionals who want to keep abreast of the latest developments within this dynamic branch of modern statistics.
Abstract
This Second Edition of Myles Hollander and Douglas A. Wolfe's successful Nonparametric Statistical Methods meets the needs of a new generation of users, with completely up-to-date coverage of this important statistical area. Like its predecessor, the revised edition, along with its companion ftp site, aims to equip readers with the conceptual and technical skills necessary to select and apply the appropriate procedures for a given situation. An extensive array of examples drawn from actual experiments illustrates clearly how to use nonparametric approaches to handle one- or two-sample location and dispersion problems, dichotomous data, and one-way and two-way layout problems. An ideal text for an upper-level undergraduate or first-year graduate course, Nonparametric Statistical Methods, Second Edition is also an invaluable source for professionals who want to keep abreast of the latest developments within this dynamic branch of modern statistics.

Hypothermia Improves Defibrillation Success and Resuscitation Outcomes From Ventricular Fibrillation

TL;DR: When VF was induced in the setting of moderate or severe hypothermia, resuscitative measures were facilitated with significantly improved defibrillation success and resuscitation outcome, which suggests that changes in the mechanical, metabolic, or electrophysiological properties of the myocardium may be responsible.
Journal ArticleDOI

Genetic and Phenotypic Diversity of Bacillus polymyxa in Soil and in the Wheat Rhizosphere.

TL;DR: It appears that wheat roots may select a specific subpopulation from the soil B. polymyxa isolated from the rhizoplane because of a higher variability among strains isolated from nonrhizosphere and rhizosphere soil than among rhzoplane strains.
Journal ArticleDOI

Coincident plasmids and antimicrobial resistance in marine bacteria isolated from polluted and unpolluted Atlantic Ocean samples.

TL;DR: It is concluded that bacterial isolates derived from toxic chemical wastes more frequently contain plasmid DNA and demonstrate antimicrobial resistance than doacterial isolates from domestic sewage-impacted waters or from uncontaminated open ocean sites.

Correlates of male mating success in a lekking bird with male-male cooperation

TL;DR: Correlates of male mating success were examined in a population of long-tailed manakins, Chiroxiphia linearis, that included 270 colour-banded individuals and indicated that female visitation correlated with the number of unison ‘toledo’ calls given by male partners.
