Journal ArticleDOI

The fate of oxygen in the quenching of excited singlet states

TL;DR: In this article, the spin-allowed decay of an initially formed 3(T1 + 1Δ) complex state to a lower energy 3(t1 + 3Σ) state prior to complex dissociation was investigated.
Journal ArticleDOI

Visible light-photosensitized oxidation of organic pollutants using amorphous peroxo-titania

TL;DR: Amorphous peroxo-titania (Am-peroxoTiO2), synthesized by a facile method, demonstrated photochemical activity for the oxidation of organic pollutants under visible light illumination as mentioned in this paper.
Journal ArticleDOI

Azobenzene derivatives carrying a nitroxide radical.

TL;DR: Several trans-azobenzene derivatives carrying a nitroxide (aminoxyl) radical were prepared, and their photoisomerization reactions to the corresponding cis-isomers were investigated, and the change of the intermolecular magnetic interactions was apparently observed by the structural change for each photochromic couple.
Journal ArticleDOI

Photoredox behaviour of chlorocopper(II) complexes in acetonitrile: mechanism and quantum yields

TL;DR: In this article, it was shown that the transient Cl 2 (which originates from free Cl and free Cl−) is quenched only by Cu(II) (kII = 1.7 × 108 dm3 mol−1 s−1) and Cu(I)(kI = 2.8 × 108 Dm3 m3 mldm3 n− 1 s− 1 ) and not by Li+, Cl− or the solvent.
Journal ArticleDOI

Comparison of Physical and Photophysical Properties of Monometallic and Bimetallic Ruthenium(II) Complexes Containing Structurally Altered Diimine Ligands.

TL;DR: The physical and photophysical properties of a series of monometallic, and bimetallic, complexes are examined, which display metal-to-ligand charge transfer transitions in the 450 nm region, intraligand pi --> pi transitions at energies greater than 300 nm, and emission lifetimes were temperature dependent over 90-360 K.
