Zn(II)-coordination modulated ligand photophysical processes - the development of fluorescent indicators for imaging biological Zn(II) ions.
TL;DR: The main aim is to show how small organic Zn(II) indicators work under the constraints of specific requirements, including Zn (II) detection range, photophysical requirements such as excitation energy and emission color, temporal and spatial resolutions in a heterogeneous intracellular environment, and fluorescence response selectivity between similar cations.

TL;DR: The synthesis, protonation behavior, and Cu2+ and Zn2+ coordination chemistry of the novel bibrachial aza lariat ether (naphthalen-1-ylmethyl) are discussed and the acid-base, coordination capabilities, and emissive behavior of L are compared with those presented by its synthetic precursor L1.

Efficiency of intramolecular electronic energy transfer in coumarin bichromophoric molecules
TL;DR: In this paper, the effects of n, temperature, viscosity and solvent nature on the efficiency of intramolecular energy transfer in bichromorhoric molecules consisting of two coumarins linked by a variable number of methylene groups (n = 3, 4, 8, 12) were studied with special attention to the effects.

Calculation of the distribution of donor-acceptor distances in flexible bichromophoric molecules: application to intramolecular transfer of excitation energy
TL;DR: The distribution of center-to-center distances between chromophores linked to the ends of a short flexible chain can be calculated by using the rotational isomer theory together with the statistical weights of the conformations of short sequences of three and four bonds as discussed by the authors.
