Photoredox-Catalyzed Bromodifluoromethylation of Alkenes with (Difluoromethyl)triphenylphosphonium Bromide.

TLDR
Under visible-light photoredox conditions, difluoromethyltriphenylphosphonium bromide was used as the precursor of the CF2H radical for bromodiflu oromethylation of alkenes and the presence of catalytic CuBr2 resulted in the selective formation of the bromodelectric products.

Recent advances in photoinduced trifluoromethylation and difluoroalkylation

TL;DR: The photoinduced trifluoromethylation and difluoroalkylation under photocatalysis are summarized in this article, where the photocatalyst in a photocatalytic cycle is initially stimulated to the excited state in the presence of visible light, which then provides an electron to the fluorinated reagent to release a CF3 radical or CF2 radical.
