Adsorption of zinc(II) from water with purified carbon nanotubes

TL;DR: In this paper, commercial single-walled carbon nanotubes (SWCNTs) and multi-walled carbon nanotsubes (MWCNT) were used as adsorbents to study the adsorption characteristics of zinc from water.
Journal ArticleDOI

Synthesis of few-layer graphene via microwave plasma-enhanced chemical vapour deposition

TL;DR: A way to extend the capabilities of plasma-enhanced chemical vapour deposition to the synthesis of freestanding few-layer graphene is presented and the resulting graphene flakes are aligned vertically to the substrate surface and grow according to a three-step process.

Raman Spectrum of Graphite

TL;DR: Raman spectra are reported from single crystals of graphite and other graphite materials as mentioned in this paper, and the Raman intensity of this band is inversely proportional to the crystallite size and is caused by a breakdown of the k-selection rule.

Unusually High Thermal Conductivity of Carbon Nanotubes

TL;DR: An unusually high value, lambda approximately 6600 W/m K, is suggested for an isolated (10,10) nanotube at room temperature, comparable to the thermal conductivity of a hypothetical isolated graphene monolayer or diamond.
