Abstract
An information-processing model is outlined that predicts that performance on non-routine tasks can be impaired independently of performance on routine tasks. The model is related to views on frontal lobe functions, particularly those of Luria. Two methods of obtaining more rigorous tests of the model are discussed. One makes use of ideas from artificial intelligence to derive a task heavily loaded on planning abilities. A group of patients with left anterior lesions has a specific deficit on the task. Subsidiary investigations support the inference that this is a planning impairment.

Cognition and motor control as a function of Delta9-THC concentration in serum and oral fluid: limits of impairment.

TL;DR: Serum THC concentrations between 2 and 5 ng/ml establish the lower and upper range of a THC limit for impairment, which is associated with increased risk of becoming involved in traffic accidents.

Neural correlates of planning ability: frontal lobe activation during the Tower of London test.

TL;DR: The level of rCBF was significantly increased in the left pre-frontal cortex during the Tower of London task, and subjects who took more time planning their moves, and less moves to complete a problem had a significantly higher level.

Executive function profile of children with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder.

TL;DR: The neuropsychological profile for executive functions of children with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) was explored to assess whether problems associated with the two most cited relevant processes-inhibition and attentional problems-were the core of any executive function difficulty.

The Development of an Ecologically Valid Test for Assessing Patients with a Dysexecutive Syndrome

TL;DR: Crawford et al. as mentioned in this paper developed an ecologically valid test for assessing patients with dysexecutive syndrome with attention and executive function, which was used to assess patients with Attention and Executive Function.

Executive function in adolescents with Down Syndrome

TL;DR: A broad impairment in executive function is suggested in adolescents with Down Syndrome, and is consistent with several similar studies conducted with adults with DS.

Human Problem Solving

TL;DR: The aim of the book is to advance the understanding of how humans think by putting forth a theory of human problem solving, along with a body of empirical evidence that permits assessment of the theory.

Higher cortical functions in man

TL;DR: Among the authors' patients was a bookkeeper with a severe form of sensory aphasia who could still draw up the annual balance sheet in spite of severe disturbances of speech and although he was unable to remember the names of his subordinates and used to refer to them incorrectly.

Attention to action: willed and automatic control of behavior

TL;DR: This chapter proposes a theoretical framework structured around the notion of a set of active schemas, organized according to the particular action sequences of which they are a part, awaiting the appropriate set of conditions so that they can become selected to control action.
