Self-regulation and the stability of large ecological networks
TL;DR: It is shown that intraspecific self-regulation is a necessary feature for the stabilization of empirical and theoretical networks and suggests that the aforementioned potential mechanisms of self- regulation are probably more important in contributing to the stability of observed ecological networks than was previously thought.
