TLDR
Response surface methods were used to determine the optimum concentration of medium nutrients for extracellular β-1,3-glucanase production by Trichoderma harzianum in shakeflask culture.Abstract:
Response surface methods were used to determine the optimum concentration of medium nutrients for extracellular β-1,3-glucanase production by Trichoderma harzianum in shakeflask culture. A Plackett-Burman design was used to screen the important variables which were then grouped and studied by a central composite design. The optimum levels of the medium constituents were determined by the complex algorithm of Box.read more

Strategies for improving fermentation medium performance: a review
Max J. Kennedy,D Krouse +1 more
TL;DR: Many techniques are available in the fermentation medium designer’s toolbox (borrowing, component swapping, biological mimicry, one-at-a-time, statistical and mathematical techniques—experimental design and optimization), and considerable advantage can be gained by logical application of the techniques, combined with good experimental design.

Statistical optimization of medium components for enhanced riboflavin production by a UV-mutant of Eremothecium ashbyii
Venugopal Pujari,T.S. Chandra +1 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the nutritional requirements for riboflavin production by a UV-mutant of Eremothecium ashbyii UV-18-57 were optimized using indigenous agroindustrial byproducts.

Effect of glucose level on the batch production of β-1,3-glucanase by Trichoderma harzianum and cell growth
K. Théodore,Tapobrata Panda +1 more
TL;DR: The inhibitory effect of increased initial glucose concentrations on cell growth has been studied and the Luong and the Han-Levenspiel models were used to explain the mechanism of inhibition.

Development of Medium for Griseofulvin Production: Part I. Screening of Medium Constituents Using the Plackett-Burman Experimental Design
TL;DR: The Plackett-Burman experimental design was employed and it was found that the medium constituents, sucrose, K2HPO4, NaNO3, and FeSO4·7H2O, significantly influenced the griseofulvin production by Penicillium grisingofulvum MTCC 1898.

Self-directing optimization of β-1,3-glucanase production by Trichoderma harzianum in batch culture
K. Théodore,Tapobrata Panda +1 more
TL;DR: The self-directing optimization technique was employed to determine the optimal conditions for β-1,3-glucanase production by Trichoderma harzianum in batch culture and these were found to be the most suitable.

A New Method of Constrained Optimization and a Comparison With Other Methods
TL;DR: A new method for finding the maximum of a general non-linear function of several variables within a constrained region is described, and shown to be efficient compared with existing methods when the required optimum lies on one or more constraints.

Preliminary characterization of laminarinase from Trichoderma longibrachiatum
A. Sharma,James P. Nakas +1 more
TL;DR: Trichoderma longibrachiatum, when cultivated on untreated ground mushroom fruiting bodies as the only carbon substrate, exhibited extracellular laminarinase (endo-1,3(4)-s-glucanase EC 3.2.6) activity.

Multiple pH and temperature optimum of extracellular xylanase from Trichoderma reesei QM 9414
TL;DR: In vitro studies with xylanase showed different temperature optima for activity in presence and in absence of xylan as substrate and a number of temperature and pH optima suggested the multiple nature of xyalanase.
