New amides from the fruits of Piper retrofractum

TL;DR: Three new amides, (2E,14Z)-N-isobutyleicosa-2,14-dienamide (1), dipiperamides F and G (2 and 3), together with 30 known compounds were isolated from the fruits of Piper retrofractum by extensive spectroscopic analyses and a plausible biosynthetic pathway leading to the amides isolated is discussed.
Journal ArticleDOI

Lignans and neolignans from piperaceae

TL;DR: A review of lignans and neolignans currently known in the Piperaceae can be found in this paper, where the authors summarize the structures and properties of these genera.

ACAT inhibition of alkamides identified in the fruits of Piper nigrum

TL;DR: Through a bioactivity-guided fractionation of MeOH extracts of the fruits of Piper nigrum, alkamide and five previously-identified alkamides were isolated and all inhibited cholesterol esterification in HepG2 cells.
Journal ArticleDOI

Evaluation of constituents of Piper retrofractum fruits on neurotrophic activity.

TL;DR: Three new compounds, 1-3, together with 22 known compounds, were isolated from the fruits of Piper retrofractum and found to enhance the neurite outgrowth of NGF-mediated PC12 cells at concentrations ranging from 0.1 to 10 μM.
