TLDR
When silvery films of the semiconducting polymer, trans polyacetylene, (CH)x, are exposed to chlorine, bromine, or iodine vapour, uptake of halogen occurs, and the conductivity increases markedly (over seven orders of magnitude in the case of iodine) to give silvery or silvery-black films, some of which have a remarkably high conductivity at room temperature.
Abstract
When silvery films of the semiconducting polymer, trans‘polyacetylene’, (CH)x, are exposed to chlorine, bromine, or iodine vapour, uptake of halogen occurs, and the conductivity increases markedly (over seven orders of magnitude in the case of iodine) to give, depending on the extent of halogenation, silvery or silvery-black films, some of which have a remarkably high conductivity at room temperature.

Theoretical Modeling of the Doping Process in Polypyrrole by Calculating UV/Vis Absorption Spectra of Neutral and Charged Oligomers

TL;DR: Theoretical UV spectra for cations and dications of short oligomers (six to eight rings) match experimental spectra of polypyrrole at low and at high doping levels, respectively, and the error in the theoretical calculations is about 0.4 eV.

Chain Length Dependence of the Dielectric Constant and Polarizability in Conjugated Organic Thin Films

TL;DR: This work investigates the relationship between the polarizability of the constituent molecules and the film dielectric constant, using periodic density functional theory (DFT) calculations, for polyyne and saturated alkane chains and explores the implication of the superlinear chain length dependence of the polarIZability, a specific feature of conjugated molecules.

A fast switching, low band gap, p- and n-dopable, donor–acceptor type polymer

TL;DR: In this article, a new electrochromic polymer, poly(2,3-diphenyl-5,7-bis(3,4-ethylenedioxy-2-thienyl)thieno[3, 4-b]pyrazine) (PGS) is electrochemically synthesized and its electrochemical properties are reported.

Synthesis, characterization, and electrocatalytic properties of a polypyrrole-composited Pd/C catalyst

TL;DR: In this paper, a potential cycling test and inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (ICP-MS) analysis are applied to this system to investigate how PPy affects Pd surface area loss by dissolution and particle growth/agglomeration.

A Direct C–H Coupling Method for Preparing π-Conjugated Functional Polymers with High Regioregularity

TL;DR: In this paper, an efficient and mild method was developed using direct cross-coupling of sp2 C-H bonds, which not only gave generally high regioregularity (up to 99%) but also can be applied for a series of substrate compounds with various structures and substituted groups.
