TLDR
When silvery films of the semiconducting polymer, trans polyacetylene, (CH)x, are exposed to chlorine, bromine, or iodine vapour, uptake of halogen occurs, and the conductivity increases markedly (over seven orders of magnitude in the case of iodine) to give silvery or silvery-black films, some of which have a remarkably high conductivity at room temperature.
Abstract
When silvery films of the semiconducting polymer, trans‘polyacetylene’, (CH)x, are exposed to chlorine, bromine, or iodine vapour, uptake of halogen occurs, and the conductivity increases markedly (over seven orders of magnitude in the case of iodine) to give, depending on the extent of halogenation, silvery or silvery-black films, some of which have a remarkably high conductivity at room temperature.

Binaphthyl-based macromolecules: a review

TL;DR: A review on the synthesis, structural investigation, and applications of binaphthyl-based macromolecules can be found in this paper, where a brief overview on the design and synthesis of direct or indirect-linked binaph-based monomers is presented.

Electrochromic Solid-State Devices Using Organic-Metallic Hybrid Polymers

TL;DR: In this paper, a polymer film cast on an indium tin oxide (ITO) electrode exhibits excellent electrochromic properties; the color of the film disappears when a higher potential as compares to the redox potential of the metal ions is applied to the polymer film.

Space science applications for conducting polymer particles: synthetic mimics for cosmic dust and micrometeorites

TL;DR: In this case, the sacrificial polypyrrole overlayer simply provides a sensitive spectroscopic signature (rather than a conductive overlayer), and the scientific findings have important implications for the detection of organic dust grains during the Stardust space mission.

PEDOT:TOS with PEG: a biofunctional surface with improved electronic characteristics

TL;DR: In this article, the authors used vapour phase polymerization to create a biofunctional composite material of the conducting polymer poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene):tosylate (PEDOT:TOS) and the biologically relevant poly(ethylene glycol) (PEG).
