TLDR
When silvery films of the semiconducting polymer, trans polyacetylene, (CH)x, are exposed to chlorine, bromine, or iodine vapour, uptake of halogen occurs, and the conductivity increases markedly (over seven orders of magnitude in the case of iodine) to give silvery or silvery-black films, some of which have a remarkably high conductivity at room temperature.
Abstract
When silvery films of the semiconducting polymer, trans‘polyacetylene’, (CH)x, are exposed to chlorine, bromine, or iodine vapour, uptake of halogen occurs, and the conductivity increases markedly (over seven orders of magnitude in the case of iodine) to give, depending on the extent of halogenation, silvery or silvery-black films, some of which have a remarkably high conductivity at room temperature.

Anchoring Polyiodide to Conductive Polymers as Cathode for High Performance Aqueous Zinc-Iodine Batteries

TL;DR: In this paper, the polyiodide doped conductive polymer cathode was proposed to suppress the dissolution of active materials in electrolyte, achieving high reversible capacity of 160 mAh/g and remarkable cycling stability with capacity retention of 79% after 700 cycles at 1.5 A/g.

Electrical Conductivity Based Ammonia Sensing Properties of Polypyrrole/MoS2 Nanocomposite.

TL;DR: It was observed that the incorporation of MoS2 in PPy showed high sensitivity, significant stability and excellent reversibility, and the enhanced sensing properties of PPy/MoS2 nanocomposites could be attributed to comparatively high surface area, appropriate sensing channels and efficiently available active sites.

Delineating poly(aniline) redox chemistry by using tailored oligo(aryleneamine)s: towards oligo(aniline)-based organic semiconductors with tunable optoelectronic properties

TL;DR: The simple and elegant Buchwald-Hartwig cross-coupling reaction has been used to synthesise a designed range of new aniline-based tetramers in one step, and without the need for protecting groups, enabling a structure-activity relationship study by using a range of photophysical and electrochemical techniques.

Electrical conductivity and mechanical properties of polyaniline/natural rubber composite fibers

TL;DR: In this paper, the electrical conductivity of the fibers increased with the increasing PANI-ES content and leveled off at a value of around 10−3 S/cm at PANIES concentration of 5% w/w.
