The Added Role of MR Imaging in Treatment Stratification of Patients with Gynecologic Malignancies: What the Radiologist Needs to Know

TLDR
The purpose of this review is to highlight the added role of MR imaging in the treatment stratification and overall care of patients with endometrial, cervical, or ovarian cancer.
Abstract
Advances in MR imaging techniques, along with the growing role of the radiologist as part of a multidisciplinary treatment-planning team, have become central in tailoring treatment options and frequently lead to modifications in the therapeutic approach in patients with gynecologic malignancies.

Pretreatment Radiologically Enlarged Lymph Nodes as a Significant Prognostic Factor in Clinical Stage IIB Cervical Cancer: Evidence from a Taiwanese Tertiary Care Center in Reaching Consensus

TL;DR: Nearly half of the patients with clinical stage IIB CC had enlarged LNs identified during pretreatment radiologic evaluation, which negatively impacted prognosis, highlighting the need to incorporate CT- or MRI-based LN assessment before treatment for stage IIb CC.

Encoded in vivo time signals from the ovary in magnetic resonance spectroscopy: poles and zeros as the cornerstone for stability of response functions of systems to external perturbations

TL;DR: In this paper, the spectral poles and zeros were examined as the key to stability of the system to external excitations in order to eliminate the oversensitivity to alterations in model order K, through systematic examination of poles and zero, as well as Pade-reconstructed total shape spectra.

Molecular differential analysis of uterine leiomyomas and leiomyosarcomas through weighted gene network and pathway tracing approaches

TL;DR: Uterine smooth muscular neoplastic growths like benign leiomyomas (UL) and metastatic leisomyosarcomas (ULMS) share similar clinical symptoms, radiological and histological appearances making their...

Comparison of the determination of the local tumor extent of primary endometrial cancer using clinical examination and 3 Tesla magnetic resonance imaging compared to histopathology

TL;DR: In this article, the authors analyzed the correct staging of primary endometrial cancer (EC) using clinical examination and 3 Tesla (T) magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) results compared to histopathology.

Preoperative MR staging of cervical carcinoma: are oblique and contrast-enhanced sequences necessary?:

TL;DR: It is not necessary to perform oblique and contrast-enhanced sequences in small cervical carcinomas, i.e. without parametrial invasion, to avoid erroneous interpretation.

Cancer statistics, 2010

TL;DR: The American Cancer Society as mentioned in this paper estimated the number of new cancer cases and deaths expected in the United States in the current year and compiles the most recent data regarding cancer incidence, mortality, and survival based on incidence data from the National Cancer Institute, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and the North American Association of Central Cancer Registries and mortality data from National Center for Health Statistics.

Diffusion-Weighted Magnetic Resonance Imaging as a Cancer Biomarker: Consensus and Recommendations

TL;DR: DW-MRI should be tested as an imaging biomarker in the context of well-defined clinical trials, by adding DW-MRI to existing NCI-sponsored trials, particularly those with tissue sampling or survival indicators, and standards for measurement, analysis, and display are needed.
