Reproductive aspects of Japanese quails (Coturnix coturnix japonica) hatched from eggs incubated under different light colors.

TL;DR: In this article, the effect of exposure to different colors of light during egg incubation on the reproductive parameters of male and female Japanese quails was evaluated, and it was concluded that under the studied conditions, the incubation of quail eggs under white, red, and green LED lamps does not influence the reproductive characteristics of the quails.
Journal ArticleDOI

Effects of dietary supplementation of tomato pomace (Solanum lycopersicum L.) and L-Arg on reproductive performance of aged male broiler breeders

TL;DR: In this article , the effects of different dietary supplementation of tomato pomace (TP) and Larginine (L-Arg) supplementation on sperm characteristics, reproductive performance, and semen biochemical components of aged commercial male broiler breeders were investigated.
Journal ArticleDOI

Physical and Semen Characteristics of Mexican Creole Roosters in Summer and Autumn, at 19° North Latitude with a Constant Photoperiod

TL;DR: In this article , the effect of seasons on live weight, body condition, mass motility, percentage of live spermatozoa, and sperm-cell concentration of Creole roosters (Gallus domesticus) from Mexico was evaluated.
Journal ArticleDOI

The interest of hyperosmolar extenders in rooster sperm cryopreservation

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors investigated the potential benefit of hyperosmolar extender during the freezing-thawing process in rooster sperm in order to minimize the amount of intracellular water and reduce the impact of intra-cell icecrystal during freezing process.

W. H. Burrows, +1 more
- 01 Jul 1935 -
TL;DR: The method presented in this paper consists of a manual elicitation of an ejaculatory response which is undoubtedly reflex in nature and can be obtained in a short period of time.

Selective Fertilization in Fowls

L. C. Dunn
- 01 Jun 1927 -
TL;DR: An attempt was made to find out whether there was any selective preference in the union of sperm and egg cells in poultry, and it was found that self-fertilization was more effective or easier to make than cross fertilization.

The Influence of Certain Feeds Upon the Production of Spermatozoa by the Domestic Chicken

TL;DR: Experimental studies pertaining to the factors which may influence fertility in poultry have been limited to hatchability thus far, and for obvious reasons such studies have been confined to the female.
Journal ArticleDOI

A study of the spermatozoon of the fowl, with particular reference to osmiophilic bodies in the sperm head

TL;DR: The purpose of this study was to learn something of the nature of the bead‐like bodies which occur in the head of the sperm of the fowl since it was found in a previous study that they are apparently affected in a characteristic manner by vitamin E deficiency.
