Some Mathematical and Geophysical Considerations in Radioisotope Dating Applications
TL;DR: The isotope effect is that isotopes having a smaller atomic mass will diffuse faster throughout a medium than will their heavier counterparts causing concentration gradients of their ratios even when there are no contributions from radioactive decay as discussed by the authors.
Journal ArticleDOI
Kinetic Monte Carlo simulations of Ge–Sb–Te thin film crystallization
Alain Portavoce,Göbel Roland,J Remondina,Marion Descoins,M. Bertoglio,Marshal Amalraj,Paul Eyméoud,Didier Dutartre,F. Lorut,Magali Putero +9 more
TL;DR: In this article , a simplified GST system was used to catch the basics of atomic redistribution in Ge-rich GST (GrGST) films using atomistic kinetic Monte Carlo simulations.
Journal ArticleDOI
Prediction of carbide free layer formation in Fe-Ni-Cr austenitic steel process heater tube
TL;DR: In this article, an integrated scanning electron microscopy-energy dispersive spectroscopy-electron backscatter diffraction system was used for microstructural and compositional analysis of the investigated alloy tubes.
Journal ArticleDOI
Biological Diffusion Coefficient for 3D Tumor Growth in Homogeneous Media
TL;DR: The results show that the existence of normal cells acts as a stochastic resistance to the malignant growth, and the biological diffusion coefficient of tumor cell increases with time explaining the apparent acceleration and penetration of tumor cells through a normal tissue.

A review of conduction phenomena in Li-ion batteries
TL;DR: A comprehensive survey of conduction phenomena in all components of a Li-ion cell incorporating theoretical, experimental, and simulation studies is presented in this paper, where the critical results, issues and challenges with respect to ionic and electronic conduction in the cathode, anode and electrolyte are discussed.
Journal ArticleDOI
Radiation effects in crystalline ceramics for the immobilization of high-level nuclear waste and plutonium
William J. Weber,Rodney C. Ewing,C. R. A. Catlow,T. Diaz de la Rubia,Linn W. Hobbs,C. Kinoshita,Hj. Matzke,Arthur T. Motta,Michael Nastasi,Ekhard K. H. Salje,Eric R. Vance,Steven J. Zinkle +11 more
TL;DR: A comprehensive review of the state-of-the-art of radiation effects in crystalline ceramics that may be used for the immobilization of high-level nuclear waste and plutonium is provided in this article.
Journal ArticleDOI
Criteria for developing castable, creep-resistant aluminum-based alloys - A review
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors describe four criteria for the selection of alloying elements capable of producing castable, precipitation-strengthened Al alloys with high-temperature stability and strength.
Journal ArticleDOI
Shear localization in dynamic deformation of materials: microstructural evolution and self-organization
TL;DR: In this article, the authors investigated the microstructural evolution inside the shear bands and found that they exhibit a clear self-organization, with a characteristic spacing that is a function of a number of parameters.
Journal ArticleDOI
Bulk tracer diffusion in CoCrFeNi and CoCrFeMnNi high entropy alloys
Mayur Vaidya,Mayur Vaidya,Konda Gokuldoss Pradeep,B.S. Murty,Gerhard Wilde,Gerhard Wilde,Sergiy V. Divinski,Sergiy V. Divinski +7 more
TL;DR: In this article, the diffusion coefficients of Co, Cr, Fe and Mn tracers were determined in polycrystalline CoCrFeNi and CoCr FeMnNi HEAs using the radiotracer method in the temperature interval of 1073-1373 K.
