TLDR
The African Middle and early Late Pleistocene hominid fossil record is fairly continuous and in it can be recognized a number of probably distinct species that provide plausible ancestors for H. sapiens, and suggests a gradual assembling of the package of modern human behaviors in Africa, and its later export to other regions of the Old World.About:

The Evolution of Human Dance: Courtship, Rites of Passage, Trance, Calendrical Ceremonies and the Professional Dancer
TL;DR: A model of five major chronological phases is suggested for the history of human dance as mentioned in this paper, where the earliest phase is associated with courtship, thus explaining the potent role of dance in sexual desire and seduction.

Technological adaptation and the emergence of Levallois in Central Europe: new insight from the Markkleeberg and Zwochau open-air sites in Germany
TL;DR: In this article, the introduction of the Levallois method in Europe is considered the technological innovation that marked the beginning of the Middle Palaeolithic and early evidence of this new concept of flake production is dated at the junction between Marine Isotope Stage (MIS) 9 and MIS 8, a period that showed a deterioration of climatic conditions, i.e. a change from forested to cold tundra-steppe vegetation and dispersal of the Mammuthus-Coelodonta faunal complex from artic territories.

Further evidence for bow hunting and its implications more than 60 000 years ago: Results of a use-trace analysis of the bone point from Klasies River Main site, South Africa
TL;DR: In this paper, the bone point (SAM 42160) from >60 ka deposits at Klasies River Main Site, South Africa, is reassessed and evidence that the point was hafted and partially coated in an adhesive substance.

From A Paleolithic Art to Pleistocene Visual Cultures (Introduction to two Special Issues on ‘Advances in the Study of Pleistocene Imagery and Symbol Use’)
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors define the temporal and geographic scope of Pleistocene imagery, outline the contexts in which the images are found, briefly review the history of interpretation of the images and discuss some of the current trends and future directions of the field.

Age dating and the orbital theory of the ice ages: Development of a high-resolution 0 to 300,000-year chronostratigraphy
Douglas G. Martinson,Nicklas G Pisias,James D. Hays,John Imbrie,Theodore C. Moore,Nicholas J Shackleton +5 more
TL;DR: Using the concept of "orbital tuning", a continuous, high-resolution deep-sea chronostratigraphy has been developed spanning the last 300,000 yr as mentioned in this paper.

Mitochondrial DNA and human evolution
TL;DR: All these mitochondrial DMAs stem from one woman who is postulated to have lived about 200,000 years ago, probably in Africa, implying that each area was colonised repeatedly.
