Phase Transitions in Zeolitic Imidazolate Framework 7: The Importance of Framework Flexibility and Guest-Induced Instability

TL;DR: It is of great significance to understand potential structural phase transitions since they strongly affect ZIF’s’ structurally-related sorption and mechanical properties, which are essential to ZIFs-based technology innovations and industrial applications.

Synthesis and properties of colloidal lanthanide-doped nanocrystals

TL;DR: In this article, the authors used TEM, powder-XRD, absorption spectroscopy and luminescence spectra of europium-doped samples to verify that the dopant ions entered the same lattice sites as in the corresponding bulk material.

Load partitioning in aluminum syntactic foams containing ceramic microspheres

TL;DR: In this paper, syntactic foams were fabricated by pressure-infiltrating liquid aluminum (commercial purity and 7075-Al) into a packed preform of silica-mullite hollow microspheres.

Enhancement of discharge capacity of Li3V2(PO4)3 by stabilizing the orthorhombic phase at room temperature

TL;DR: Li 3 V 2 (PO 4 ) 3 and solid solutions of Li 3−2 x (V 1− x Zr x ) 2(PO 4 )) 3 were prepared by a solid state reaction as discussed by the authors and showed a cathode performance with two well defined regions of plateau at around 3.6 and 4.0 V vs. Li/Li + upon discharging.

Rietveld structure refinement of precipitated carbonate apatite using neutron diffraction data

TL;DR: X-ray and time of flight neutron diffraction data, FTIR and MAS-NMR spectra, and ICP-AES and carbonate analyses have been collected from a sodium-containing carbonate apatite, showing an apparent reduction in the PO(4) tetrahedral volume.
