Characterization of the microstructure of mechanically-activated olivine using X-ray diffraction pattern analysis

TL;DR: In this article, the detailed microstructure of olivine after mechanical activation in a SPEX 8000 mill using the X-ray diffraction technique was investigated and compared, including the Scherrer method, Williamson-Hall method, Multiple Whole Profile fitting method, and Rietveld method.

Hydrogen storage properties of Mn and Cu for Fe substitution in TiFe0.9 intermetallic compound

TL;DR: In this paper, partial substitutions of Mn and Cu for Fe in the TiFe-system were investigated to gain better understanding of the role of elemental substitution on its hydrogen storage properties. And the results showed that low quantity of secondary phases helps the activation of the main TiFe phase for the first hydrogen absorption, but on increasing their amounts, harsher activation occurs.

Two-Dimensional Time-Resolved X-ray Diffraction Study of Directional Solidification in Steels

TL;DR: In this article, in situ characterization of directional solidification process during welding was carried out using the time resolved X-ray diffraction technique utilizing intense synchrotron radiation, and the behavior of dendrites in steels under welding conditions of a practical manufacturing process were investigated using the TRXRD method for in-situ weld observation with the uniquely-sensitive two-dimensional pixel detector.

Electrochemical performances of the Pd-added Ti-V-based hydrogen storage alloys

TL;DR: In this paper, the Pd element was introduced into the Ti-V-based hydrogen storage alloys, and the structure and electrochemical properties of the Ti0.8Zr 0.8Ni1.7Mn 0.2V2.0Pdx (x = 0 − 0.1) alloys were systematically investigated by X-ray diffraction (XRD), galvanostatic charge/discharge, high rate discharge (HRD), electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS), linear polarization and potentiostatic step discharge measurements.

Oxidation behavior of TiC-containing Ti3AlC2 based material at 500–900 °C in air

TL;DR: In this article, the effect of 5 vol% TiC inclusion in air was investigated by means of TGA, XRD, Raman spectroscopy and SEM/EDS, and it was demonstrated that although Ti3AlC2 exhibited good oxidation resistance at temperatures above 700 °C, anomalous oxidation with higher oxidation rate occurred at lower temperatures of 500 and 600 °C.
