Incorporation of microabsorption corrections into Rietveid analysis
TL;DR: In this article, two quantitative expressions describing the microabsorption effect are incorporated into the DBWS 9006-PC Rietveid program for scattering data obtained from YBa2Cu3O7-powder samples with different degree of surface roughness but approximately identical bulk structure.

Wide band gap tunability of bulk Cd1−xCaxO
TL;DR: In this paper, the lattice parameter variation and the band gap tuning of CdO with Ca were reported by preparing thermodynamically stable Cd1−xCaxO solid solution in the entire composition range 0≤x≤1.8.

Total scattering studies of silica polymorphs: similarities in glass and disordered crystalline local structure
David A. Keen,Martin T. Dove +1 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the average 180° Si−O−Si linkage between two polymorphs of silica was found to be similar to HP-tridymite and β-cristobalite, both dynamically disordered crystalline phases, but only out to distances of 7.5 A, beyond which the structures diverged.

Classification of stacking faults and their stepwise elimination during the disorder → order transformation of nickel hydroxide
TL;DR: Hydrothermal treatment of a poorly ordered nickel hydroxide slurry at different temperatures and different durations shows that the stacking faults are removed in a stepwise manner.

Effect of sintering temperature on mineral composition and heavy metals mobility in tailings bricks.
TL;DR: The results indicate that the sintering process facilitates the combination of Cu, Zn, Pb and Cd offering an effective and safe method for the application of materials that contain tailings.
