TLDR
It is found that OBPV had no significant associations with the composite end point of fatal and nonfatal cardiovascular events nor with heart failure or stroke, and clinicians should continue to focus on office BP control rather than on O BPV unless definitive benefits of reducing OBPv are shown in prospective trials.Abstract:
Studies of visit-to-visit office blood pressure (BP) variability (OBPV) as a predictor of cardiovascular events and death in high-risk patients treated to lower BP targets are lacking. We conducted a post hoc analysis of SPRINT (Systolic Blood Pressure Intervention Trial), a well-characterized cohort of participants randomized to intensive ( P =0.07). Our results suggest that clinicians should continue to focus on office BP control rather than on OBPV unless definitive benefits of reducing OBPV are shown in prospective trials. TL;DR: Among adults in China, systolic blood pressure was continuously related to major vascular disease with no evidence of a threshold down to 120 mm Hg, and was more strongly associated with intracerebral haemorrhage than with ischaemic stroke.

TL;DR: More research into the sex/gender differences in mechanisms responsible for hypertension are needed to determine the best treatment options that will reduce the risk of hypertension and subsequent cardiovascular diseases in both genders.

TL;DR: The risk estimates of poor BP control were comparable between patients receiving ARB drugs and those not receiving ARBs, with the only exception of a high risk of heart failure in the non-ARB group.

Hypertension in Pregnancy: Diagnosis, Blood Pressure Goals, and Pharmacotherapy: A Scientific Statement From the American Heart Association
TL;DR: In this article , a review of current literature on hypertension in pregnancy is presented, which includes normal physiological changes in pregnancy that may affect clinical presentation of hypertension and the pathophysiology of preeclampsia, an HDP commonly associated with proteinuria and increasingly recognized as a heterogeneous disease with different clinical phenotypes and likely distinct pathological mechanisms.

Visit-to-Visit Blood Pressure Variability, Carotid Atherosclerosis, and Cardiovascular Events in the European Lacidipine Study on Atherosclerosis
TL;DR: Whether visit-to-visit BP variability is prognostically important in treated mildly to moderately hypertensive patients in whom treatment aims at avoiding events but also at preventing or delaying progression of organ damage is investigated.

A more accurate method to estimate glomerular filtration rate from serum creatinine: A new prediction equation
TL;DR: The purpose of this study was to develop an equation from MDRD Study data that could improve the prediction of GFR from serum creatinine concentration, and major clinical decisions in general medicine, geriatrics, and oncology are made by using the Cockcroft-Gault formula and other formulas to predict the level of renal function.
