TL;DR: B and T cell immunity against previous variants of concern was enhanced in triple vaccinated individuals, but magnitude of T and B cell responses against B.1.1 .1.529 spike protein was reduced.

Influence of catastrophizing, anxiety, and depression on in-hospital opioid consumption, pain, and quality of recovery after adult spine surgery.
Lauren K. Dunn,Marcel E. Durieux,Lucas G. Fernandez,Siny Tsang,Emily E Smith-Straesser,Hasan F Jhaveri,Shauna P Spanos,Matthew R Thames,Christopher D Spencer,Aaron Lloyd,Russell Stuart,Fan Ye,Jacob P Bray,Edward C. Nemergut,Bhiken I. Naik +14 more
TL;DR: Catastrophizing, anxiety, and depression play important roles in modulating postoperative pain and preoperative evaluation of these factors, utilizing a validated tool, helps to identify patients at risk.
Journal ArticleDOI
Site-saturation mutagenesis of position V117 in OXA-1 β-lactamase: effect of side chain polarity on enzyme carboxylation and substrate turnover.
TL;DR: A novel fluorescence anisotropy assay is used to show that the specific charge and hydrogen-bonding potential of the residue at position 117 affect CO(2) binding to K70, which in turn correlates to deacylation activity, suggesting a reason for the preponderance of asparagine at the V117-homologous position in the sensors.
Journal ArticleDOI
Accuracy of loop-mediated isothermal amplification for the diagnosis of Clostridium difficile infection: a systematic review
Aaron Lloyd,Vinay Pasupuleti,Priyaleela Thota,Chaitanya Pant,David D. K. Rolston,Adrian V. Hernandez,Adrian V. Hernandez,Vicente A. Benites-Zapata,Thomas G. Fraser,Curtis J. Donskey,Curtis J. Donskey,Abhishek Deshpande +11 more
TL;DR: Loop-mediated isothermal DNA amplification is a useful diagnostic tool with high sensitivity and specificity for detecting CDI and should be interpreted only in the presence of clinical suspicion and symptoms of CDI.
