TL;DR: Time resolved experiments on PSII nano/microcrystals from Thermosynechococcus elongatus performed with the recently developed technique of serial femtosecond crystallography provide evidence that PSII undergoes significant conformational changes at the electron acceptor side and at the Mn4CaO5 core of the OEC.
Journal ArticleDOI

TL;DR: The structure of a human serotonin receptor was solved using a free-electron laser to analyze microcrystals and displays a distinct distribution of thermal motions and conformations of residues that likely more accurately represent the receptor structure and dynamics in a cellular environment.
Journal ArticleDOI
Ternary structure reveals mechanism of a membrane diacylglycerol kinase
Dianfan Li,Phillip J. Stansfeld,Mark S.P. Sansom,Aaron P. Keogh,L. Vogeley,Nicole Howe,Joseph A. TL;DR: The active site architecture of diacylglycerol kinase shows clear evidence of having arisen by convergent evolution and a catalytic mechanism for this unique enzyme is proposed.

Journal ArticleDOI
Crystallization of a self-assembled three-dimensional DNA nanostructure
TL;DR: In this work, the crystallization of a self-assembling three-dimensional B-DNA nanostructure is described, with the eventual goal of producing nanocrystals to overcome the radiation-damage obstacle by the use of free-electron laser technology in the future.
