Journal ArticleDOI

Titanium dioxide nanoparticles impaired both photochemical and non-photochemical phases of photosynthesis in wheat

TL;DR: The results support that the induced decay in chlorophyll a content compromised the electron transport through PSII and that stomatal limitations impaired CO2 assimilation and propose that photosynthetic related endpoints are sensitive and valuable biomarkers to assess TiO2-NP toxicity.
Journal ArticleDOI

Artemisia herba-alba Asso. essential oil antibacterial activity and acute toxicity

TL;DR: In this article, the in vitro antibacterial activity against 21 bacterial strains and chemical composition of Artemisia herba-alba essential oil were investigated and the acute toxicity by determination of the median lethal dose was also studied.
Journal ArticleDOI

Artelastocarpin and carpelastofuran, two new flavones, and cytotoxicities of prenyl flavonoids from Artocarpus elasticus against three cancer cell lines

TL;DR: Further study of one of the fractions from the wood of Artocarpus elasticus furnished two new prenylated flavonoids artelastocarpin and carpelastofuran as well as ethyl 2,4-dihydroxybenzoate, which showed the most potent activity.
Journal ArticleDOI

Isomeric Kielcorins and Dihydroxyxanthones: Synthesis, Structure Elucidation, and Inhibitory Activities of Growth of Human Cancer Cell Lines and on the Proliferation of Human Lymphocytes In Vitro

TL;DR: The synthesis, structure elucidation, and biological activities of five isomeric xanthonolignoids, (±)-trans-kielcorin C,(±)-cis-kielcorin D, (µ)-trans-,trans-isokielcorbin D, and µ-trans-kilecorin E, are reported in this paper.
