Journal ArticleDOI
Improved methodologies for synthesis of prenylated xanthones by microwave irradiation and combination of heterogeneous catalysis (K10 clay) with microwave irradiation
Raquel A. P. Castanheiro,Madalena Pinto,Sara Cravo,Diana C. G. A. Pinto,Artur M. S. Silva,Anake Kijjoa +5 more
TL;DR: In this article, 11 prenylated xanthone derivatives were synthesized for the first time by the microwave irradiation method using Montmorillonite K10 clay as a heterogeneous catalyst.
Journal ArticleDOI
Recyclable Keggin Heteropolyacids as an Environmentally Benign Catalyst for the Synthesis of New 2-Benzoylamino-N-phenyl-benzamide Derivatives under Microwave Irradiations at Solvent-Free Conditions and the Evaluation of Biological Activity
Karima Ighilahriz-Boubchir,Baya Boutemeur-Kheddis,Chérifa Rabia,Malika Makhloufi-Chebli,Maamar Hamdi,Artur M. S. Silva +5 more
TL;DR: It is found that the use of H3PW12O40·13H2O acid coupled to microwave irradiation allowed obtaining a high-yielding reaction with a short time.
Journal ArticleDOI
Cyclic voltammetric analysis of 2-styrylchromones: relationship with the antioxidant activity.
Ana Gomes,Eduarda Fernandes,M. Beatriz Q. Garcia,Artur M. S. Silva,Diana C. G. A. Pinto,Clementina M.M. Santos,José A. S. Cavaleiro,José L. F. C. Lima +7 more
TL;DR: The results from the scavenging assays were in agreement with those obtained from the cyclic voltammetry, that is, higher scavenging effects corresponded to lower values of oxidation potentials, with significant correlation coefficients.
Journal ArticleDOI
A New Meroditerpene and a New Tryptoquivaline Analog from the Algicolous Fungus Neosartorya takakii KUFC 7898
War War May Zin,Suradet Buttachon,Jamrearn Buaruang,Luís Gales,Luís Gales,José Alberto Pereira,Madalena Pinto,Artur M. S. Silva,Anake Kijjoa +8 more
TL;DR: The three new compounds did not show any quorum sensing inhibition in the screening protocol based on the pigment production by Chromobacterium violaceum and were evaluated for their antimicrobial activity against Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria, and multidrug-resistant isolates from the environment.
Journal ArticleDOI
An easy synthetic approach to pyridoporphyrins by domino reactions.
Cristina M. A. Alonso,Vanda Vaz Serra,Maria G. P. M. S. Neves,Augusto C. Tomé,Artur M. S. Silva,Filipe A. Almeida Paz,José A. S. Cavaleiro +6 more
TL;DR: The crystal structure of the most hydrophobic derivative 7 was determined, and it shows that these porphyrinic macrocycles form one-dimensional supramolecular tapes in the solid state.
